Activities
Through exchanges with others who have similar interests throughout the country, we have created interactive classrooms, exhibits, demonstrations and lectures so that visitors may experience the cultural heritage of Matsushiro.
In addition, more than 780 of our members specialize in over 52 traditional arts areas, such as Japanese tea ceremony, flower arrangement, photography, historic touring and recitals as well as local specialties that coincide with lifelong learning and the accommodation of the tourist.
Fees    Funded by Nagano City.  Actual expenses will apply depending on activity.

Tour through the Okususobana natural forest (home to 300 year-old beech and chestnut trees as well as the largest scale white arum on Honshu), Shouganji (the temple that enshrines the jizo representing the Kijomomiji’s guardian), Shirahige Shrine (a national important cultural property from the Muromachi period), and other shrines/temples including the Monjudo that enshrines the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, the guardian of Kiso -no-Yoshinaka.  Let us take you around the beautiful Kinasa, filled with legends and locations associated with “Kyo no Miyako”,an ancient capital of Japan.

Activities
We will guide you through the “Zenkoji Omotesando” (front approach) historical sites (Shichifukujin course, Legends course, etc.).  Each course is approximately 2km and takes 1.5-2.0 hours to complete (please inquire regarding mid-summer and mid-winter availability).  During the course we will relate the legends associated with Zenkoji and perform picture-story shows.  We do not provide tours inside Zenkoji.
Course example: Karukayasan Saikoji temple (10:00) -> Shichifukujin course -> Zenkoji Shaka-do (12:00)

Activities
We provide tours for foreigners and wheelchair bound tourists around Zenkoji and its surroundings, Obuse, Matsushiro, Togakushi, etc.  In addition, we hold training seminars and apprenticeship activities for members to improve their guide skills.

Activities
A volunteer group originally established for the 1998 Nagano Olympics. Based on our motto “Events educate people, and those people educate their districts,” we strive to build a Nagano that is rich in hospitality.  During the Special Olympics, we were active in publicity, through the 5 million Torch Run T-shirt sales, and the operation of the SO Town as well as the planning and operation of the Thanks party.  Within our interchange programs, we display pride in our hospitality with “home cooking,” while we strive to deliver the warmth of “the mothers” of Nagano.

Activities
We are a volunteer group that contributes to regional events through language interaction. We provide services in interpretation, reception, announcements, attendance (including tours), translations (those related to events) and other activities. In addition, we hold monthly translation workshops to improve our language skills.

Activities
Volunteer tour guides knowledgeable in the Battle of Kawanakajima will take you through the historical sites, made famous recently as the climax of the NHK TV series “Furinkazan.” The tour takes 30-40 minutes with one tour guide per group of 20 people (Changes available upon request).
Fees
1000 yen per group.
(No fees apply if touring the permanent exhibition inside the Nagano city museum).
